1. What is a mattress pad?
A mattress pad, also known as a mattress protector, is a layer placed between the mattress and the bedsheet to protect the mattress from dust, liquids, and sweat. This keeps the mattress clean and extends its lifespan, as you can easily wash the mattress pad with optimal time and cost.

2. What is the structure of Ru9 mattress pads?
At Ru9, we offer two mattress pad products that meet all criteria for optimal mattress protection, are non-irritating to the skin, prevent back heat, and provide comfort.
Ru9 Quilted Waterproof Mattress Protector
First is the Ru9 premium mattress protector with a 3-layer structure:
- Premium Poly cotton layer (top)
- Fiber layer (middle)
- Waterproof TPU layer (bottom).
This quilted mattress protector has a cotton surface, making it very soft and breathable, while the bottom TPU layer offers excellent waterproofing and mold resistance, and is extremely safe for the elderly and children.
Ru9 Iceguard Cooling Mattress Protector
The Ru9 Iceguard cooling pad is a special mattress protector because, in addition to its absolute waterproof capability with a TPU layer, it also incorporates the first-in-Vietnam IceFiber™ technology, which helps lower the surface temperature by 1-2 degrees compared to room temperature. With this protector, you will feel cool all night as if lying on a bamboo mat, but much more comfortably.

3. Benefits of a mattress protector
Protects the mattress from all dirt
When a mattress pad is used, the mattress surface is no longer exposed to dust and sweat. In the event of an accidental spill, the mattress protector still gives you enough time to clean it up before it affects the mattress's structure.
Extends mattress lifespan
Frequent cleaning of the mattress can expose it to harsh cleaning chemicals, which can severely reduce its lifespan. By using a mattress protector, you only need to regularly clean the pad, eliminating the need to frequently clean the main mattress, thereby extending the mattress's lifespan.
Ensures mattress warranty conditions are met
Distributors typically only honor warranties for mattresses with manufacturing defects or operational issues inherent to the mattress itself. A mattress protector helps eliminate external factors that could damage the mattress, thus ensuring the mattress still meets warranty standards when needed.
Saves time and money on mattress cleaning
Mattress pads are lightweight and easy to wash and maintain. Therefore, instead of spending a lot of effort and time cleaning the mattress yourself or paying for professional mattress cleaning services, you can now easily clean the mattress protector at home to always have a healthy sleeping environment.

5. Instructions for using Ru9 mattress protectors
- First, spread the protector evenly over the mattress surface, ensuring it covers the entire area.
- The waterproof mattress pad has four elastic loops at each corner; use these loops to secure the protector to the four corners of the mattress.
- Finally, adjust the mattress protector to ensure it is correctly positioned and flat, preventing it from slipping off the mattress.
- It is recommended to use it with a bedsheet. Lying directly on the mattress pad can easily cause it to slip.

6. How to clean and wash a mattress protector at home
- The mattress pad should be washed monthly.
- Avoid wet washing and using strong detergents. Prioritize dry cleaning or hand washing.
- It can be machine washed on a gentle cycle, do not wring vigorously, and use a laundry net to prevent damage to the mattress pad.
- After wringing, reshape the pad and hang it to dry in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
- If unsure about washing at home, you can use a professional laundry service.

7. Alternative solution: Topper Mattress Pad
Theoretically, a mattress pad or mattress protector is not a mattress topper. A mattress pad (Mattress Pad) has a thickness of 0.5cm to 1.5cm and is placed under the bedsheet. A topper (Mattress Topper) is a separate mattress with a thickness of 3cm to 8cm placed on top of another main mattress.
However, mattress protectors and mattress toppers have quite similar functions. They are both used to protect the main mattress from external factors such as dust, liquids, etc., thereby extending the lifespan of the main mattress and optimizing the mattress cleaning process. Additionally, a thicker mattress topper can also be used to increase the height, softness, and elasticity of old or overly firm mattresses. A mattress topper can also be used directly on the floor or as a sofa cushion.
In summary, if you don't want to buy a pad just for mattress protection, you might consider an alternative solution: a mattress topper, which offers a wider range of uses. Note that cleaning and washing a thin, lightweight mattress pad will certainly be easier than cleaning a mattress topper.
